Leading OEM/ODM Services for Cutting-Edge AI & AR Hardware Innovations
In an era where health and wellness have become paramount, cycling has emerged as a popular recreational and fitness activity worldwide. With over 200 million regular cyclists globally and China alone witnessing a 15% annual growth in cycling enthusiasts, the demand for specialized cycling gear has skyrocketed. Among these essentials, cycling glasses have evolved from mere protective eyewear to sophisticated smart devices, creating significant market opportunities. According to Grand View Research, the global cycling glasses market was valued at approximately $2.5 billion in 2023, accounting for 35%-40% of the entire sports eyewear market.
Recognizing the potential in this niche, Meta has announced a collaboration with renowned sports eyewear brand Oakley to launch a smart cycling glass in the second half of 2025. Building on the success of their Meta-Rayban AI glasses, this move aims to replicate their achievements in the sports segment. However, Meta faces stiff competition from early entrants in this space.
Beiqi Up, founded by Wu Dezhou, former COO of Hammer Technology, unveiled the BleeqUp Ranger AI smart glass at MWC 2025 in Spain, beating Meta to the punch. This innovative product has garnered significant attention and accolades, including five awards such as The Shortcut Best of MWC 2025.
The BleeqUp Ranger is designed with the cyclist in mind, featuring a sleek windproof glasses design made from TR90 material. Weighing just over 40 grams, these glasses offer UV400 protection, IPX4 water resistance, and adjustable nose pads for comfort during long rides.
Equipped with a 16MP Full HD action camera, the Ranger supports 1080p video recording, 16MP photos, and a 120-degree wide-angle field of view. Its EIS stabilization algorithm, optimized for cycling, ensures stable footage even on bumpy terrains. Unlike most AI glasses with limited recording times, the Ranger can record up to one hour of 1080p video, extendable to five hours with an optional helmet-mounted battery pack that doubles as a taillight for night riding.
The glasses integrate AI capabilities that automatically capture key moments like scenic views or emergency brakes, simplifying content editing. In case of sudden stops, the Ranger automatically starts recording, providing valuable evidence in accidents.
Serving as a Bluetooth headset, the Ranger features dual speakers enhanced by MEMS technology for clear audio even in windy conditions. It also functions as a walkie-talkie, allowing team communication without the need to掏手机.
Users can control the glasses via voice commands, touchpads on the temples, or handlebar-mounted controllers, offering versatile operation methods suited to different riding scenarios.
BleeqUp Ranger targets the overseas market first, with plans to launch on international crowdfunding platforms in late March. The product will integrate ChatGPT, catering to overseas consumers. This early entry gives Beiqi Up a competitive edge against Meta's Oakley collaboration, expected to launch in September 2025 but not available until the first quarter of 2026.
The BleeqUp Ranger represents a significant advancement in smart cycling glasses, combining functionality, safety, and connectivity. As the market evolves, early adopters like Beiqi Up are poised to capture market share, though competition from established players like Meta will intensify. The future of smart cycling glasses looks promising, with continuous innovation expected to enhance the riding experience.
